Joshua 9:10-12

¹⁰ We heard what He did to the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan who was at Ashtaroth. ¹¹ So our leaders and all the people of our country said to us, ‘Take what you need for traveling. Go to meet them and tell them, “We are your servants. Now make an agreement with us.’” ¹² Our bread was warm when we took it along with what we needed from our houses on the day we left to come to you. But now look, it is dry and broken.
